Anyway, Din goes into the waters only to suddenly disappear. Honestly, they did it rather quickly, why has no one been back in force before now? Crap writing, that's why. After things get wrapped up with said beasty they quickly make their way to the waters in the mine. Bo gets the job done and we get a subtle girl power claim from her but it was a cool moment with her and the darksaber, saving Din. Now things get weird with Bo, she and even Grogu start to exhibit an attitude that just doesn't gel and reminds me of an angsty teen but whatever. Din tells Grogu to get Bo Katan so we watch the same terrain in reverse order back to the ship and on to Bo Katan. Next, we watch for several minutes as Din and Grogu, the R5 is waiting back at the ship, go into the depths of Mandalore only for Din to get captured by some bio-mechanical creature. THEN, that Droid is used for only 30 seconds, what crap. BUT, in 30 seconds in this episode, he is convinced to take a faulty R5 Droid, SMH, what crap. First, in the previous episode Din made SUCH a big deal about wanting a particular IG11 that was blown up in season 1 to be fixed, NO OTHER Droid would cut it. However, the story itself and how it plays out is again such a waste of potential and the writers even forget what happened in the previous episode. You can see the quality of the production, but the writing is so atrocious.Īs for the good, he finally makes it to Mandalore and it is a graveyard except for the trolls and some other lower lifeforms in the underworld, this is shown very well so visually it is going great. Then he gets dragged down to the bottom of this lake, just to be left on the ground? What was the purpose of that? Wouldn't that thing want to eat him or something? And of course Bo-Katan saves him again. Bo-Katan is actually what we think a Mandalorian should be. Then getting captured, then relying on Grogu and badass Bo-Katan to save the day. Mando acting like one of the Three Stooges again, getting bum rushed by three grunts, barely surviving. And why exactly did Mando have to send him around the corner, like the atmosphere 20 meters behind the rocks would be any different. And alas, the droid doesn't matter one bit. He needed a droid for spelunking, to test if the air is breathable? Are you serious? They couldn't have come up with a more silly reason. Mando travels to the only other person he knows in the universe to ask for random droid parts for this incredibly important droid - just to get his mind changed within 5 minutes. Where is this going? What is the conflict, or the mission? I'm starting to not care. The pacing was off, the bit on Tattooine fun but still unsatisfying. Mando was a wuss in this, for no apparent reason. Grogu making faces that look like a pouty child took me out of the story. The show's name is neither Grogu the Baby Jedi nor Bo-Katan the Princess of Mandalore. When he drowned that was fun, but yet again he needs to be rescued. Too easy, when before was too much artificial difficulty. What is this, Sesame Street?), accepts an old droid when I wanted to see Killer/Nanny droid again (or some new version of him) - and what happened to 'only THAT droid can help me on Mandalore'? -, loses fights (against Morlocks-lookalikes), has to be rescued, and after all this artificial drama it's like, Oh, here's Bo-Katan the tour guide, Living Waters? Right there. Mando talks too much (explaining every little thing to Grogu.
